1.         Log in to JICS as an Administrator and access EX FormFlow - Forms.

2.         Click on the form you are working with.

3.         Right-click on the appropriate button and select Properties. The Edit Item window appears.

4.         Click Events.

5.         Click Add Step.

6.         From the drop-down select the condition of when the email will be sent: Else, And, If or Else answer value is.

7.         From the drop-down select, drop-down select Email: Send or Email: Cancel.

8.         Click Add . Email options appear. Example

9.         The Send Event drop-down shows the action that triggers the email being sent. You can update this as needed.

TIP: Save occurs when the form is saved and when it is submitted.

10.      In the Email From field, enter the email address to be used as the sender's email. The email address must be in the same domain as your JICS server. If you do not enter an email address, the JICS Default SMTP address is used. This is configured in Site Manager, Framework Settings, Email.

11.      In the Email To Address field, enter an email address or a Literal String Replacer to use the form submitter's email address.

12.      In the Email To Answer field, enter an email address that uses a form question to serve as a recipient address when someone replied to the email sent.

13.      In the Subject field, enter the email subject. You can include literal string or {} values to add information to the email based on information they entered in the form. For example, you can include their first and last name.

14.      To attach a PDF version of the submission to the email, select the Include Submissions check box.

15.      In the Message field, enter the content of your email. You can include literal string or {} values, update the format, create bullet and numbered lists, add a link, include an image or file, and work directly with the HTML.

16.      Click Save. The template is available to be selected from the email template drop-down list.

There are several reasons why the email might not be received:

·       The form user might have spam filters in place that keep the automated email from going to their inbox.

·       Your school's SMTP may be having issues.
